Nigeria’s EbonyLife TV and Disney are teaming together to co-produce a new series -- Desperate Housewives Africa.

The series has the potential to engage African audiences through locally relevant storytelling as well as act as a vehicle to promote Nigerian dress designers and feature pan-African acting talent.

The American version of the Desperate Housewives series was broadcast on ABC from 2004-2012 and concluded with 11.1 million viewers. Other versions of the show that have been produced include Turkey, Argentina, Brazil and the United States in Spanish.

Desperate Housewives Africa is set to premiere in the summer of 2014.
