Frank Ocean isn't as soft as he looks. In a recent interview with Oyster magazine, the Odd Future member says he never worried about getting picked on at school because “I was a thug. I sold a lot of cocaine and crack.”

Ocean also revealed in the interview that while growing up in New Orleans he didn't have any parental guidance when it came to his budding creativity. He tells the Oyster, “As a young person I didn’t have, for lack of a better word, I didn’t have a Joe Jackson in my family. I didn’t even have a parent who encouraged what I did in that way.”

MY 2 CENTS:

  • Maybe he's being sarcastic because Frank doesn't seem like the type to be a pusher.
  • Why mention this now? Is he trying to get the the drug dealers to buy his music?
