Eminem knows that naming his upcoming album The Marshall Mathers LP Twosets the bar pretty high -- and he's confident he can deliver.

Shady tells Rolling Stone, "I wouldn’t want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs." But he insists it's not a sequel. "There’s not gonna be continuations of every old song on there. To me, it’s more about the vibe, and it’s more about the nostalgia,"

When the original Marshall Mathers LP came out in 2000, it racked up an untouchable record of 1.71 million in first-week album sales.

Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP Two will be in stores on November 5th. Read the full interview in the November 7th issue of Rolling Stone.

MY 2 CENTS:

  • In other words, "It will be wack."
  • It sounds like maybe he's trying to lower people's expectations a bit with this "it's not a sequel" talk.
  • The original had "The Real Slim Shady" and "Stan." There's no point in trying to revive those songs. You'll never hit that mark again, no matter how hard you try.
