Drake's Nothing Was the Same is the top selling hip-hop album in the country, landing at number-five overall, according to the latest SoundScan figures. The disc moved 38,000 copies, putting it well behind rockers Arcade Fire's Reflecktor, which topped the chart with sales of 139,000. Katy Perry's Prism lands at number-two with sales of 91,000.
After Drake, hip-hop didn't make too much noise this week. Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience Complete is at number-13, and DJ Khaled's Suffering From Success didn't see much success, landing at number-28 with sales of just 9000.
MY 2 CENTS:
- People are acting like Nothing Was the Same has underperformed, but it has sold over a million copies in six weeks.
- You better make sure you have a hit album before calling it Suffering From Success.
- The Christmas album from those bearded guys on Duck Dynasty even sold more than any hip-hop album. Uh-oh!
