Florida State star quarterback Jameis Winston was awarded college football's Heisman Trophy Saturday in New York, while controversy lingered about allegations he sexually assaulted a fellow student.
At just 19-years-old, Winston is the youngest player, and only the second freshman to win the coveted award, following Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel [pr: MAN-zell] last year. Winston has led the Seminoles to a perfect 13-0 record this year and the ACC Championship, throwing for more than 3,800 yards and 38 touchdowns this season.
Earlier this month, prosecutors declined to file charges against Winston, but the controversy hasn't died. On Friday, the day before the trophy was awarded, his accuser's attorney held a news conference about the incident.
