Jay Z leads the 56th Annual Grammy Awards with 9 nominations.

Following Friday night's Grammy Nominations Concert Live telecast,  the year'sGrammy nominees were revealed, and Jay Z is the top contender.

Hova will arrive at the 56th annual Grammy Awards next month with nine nominations in such categories as Best Rap Album (for Magna Carta Holy Grail) and Best Rap Song for “Holy Grail.”

Kendrick Lamar is right on Jay's heels with seven nods, including Album of the Yearand Best New ArtistJustin TimberlakePharrell and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis each got seven nods as well, while Drake and Daft Punk received five and Bruno Mars four.

Unlike Jay Z, Kendrick and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are contenders in the overall Album of the Year category. They will also face each other for Best New Artist honors.

Robin Thicke got three nominations, including Record of the Year for “Blurred Lines.” He tweeted, “What an incredible honor, thank you to the Grammy committee for the nomination. This is the icing on the cake for this year.”

Miguel also grabbed two nominations, for Best R&B Performance for "How Many Drinks" featuring Kendrick Lamar and for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Power Trip" with J. Cole.

Kanye West didn't get much love, garnering nods only for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song (for "New Slaves").

Thanks to his work with Thicke, Lamar and Daft Punk, Pharrell (who is also in the running for Producer of the Year) will have two chances to win in three different categories: Record of the YearAlbum of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

The 56th annual Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, January 26th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and air live on CBS.
