Nike took a page out of Beyonce's playbook yesterday (Sunday) and made a surprise launch of its new Air Yeezy Two sneaker from Kanye West.
Nike announced the release of the shoe, dubbed the "Red October," on its' Twitter account at 1 p.m. Within an hour, the company announced that the shoe was "no longer available." And according to the Wall Street Journal, it was already collecting bids of $3800 on eBay last night.
The Yeezy Two is likely Kanye's last collaboration with Nike, as he recently announced that he's signed a deal with Adidas.
TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- Everyone's trying surprise releases now.
- Wonder how many were actually released.
- Sunday at 1 p.m. is definitely a random time to drop a new shoe.
- There were probably still a couple guys camped out in front of Foot Locker.
